Location:

Rio Chirripo Yoga Retreat & Hotel is located 3.5 hours south of Juan Santa Maria International Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica and four hours north of the border with Panama. It takes only a few minutes drive away from the village of San Gerardo de Rivas which is the base camp for hikers and climbers. The retreat is only 45 minutes east of the city of San Isidro del General in Perez Zeledon.If you follow the winding road you will get the opportunity to enjoy the tumbling waters from uncountable springs into fertile valleys, a great variety of fauna and the greenery of the landscape and that road will take you to the small town of Cannan de Rivas. Rio Chirripo Yoga retreat is half way between the Osa Peninsula and San Jose.

Sustainability:

Rio Chirripo Yoga Retreat & Hotel uses only eco-friendly cleaning products.They ask the guests to reduce the frequency of changing of towels so that they can save water and requests the guests to switch off the lights when they do not use them for saving electricity.

In the retreat the septic system is bio-digestor which turns all human fecal matter into fertilizer and filters the water to come out clean so that the environment always remain fresh. This retreat center also reuse all fruit and vegetable waste and turn that into fertilizer for their gardens. They also recycle all glass, plastic, paper and tin.

Yoga Classes and Messages:

The Secret Garden: The Secret Garden is an eleven-year labor of love that has been open to the public for two years. From Rio Chirripo the Secret Garden is only fifteen minute walk away.

Coffee Tour: This tour will let you to explore the process of making coffee.

The Cheese Tour: During this tour you will meet a family with an innovative, delicious product: a Swiss cheese, aged for at least three months. You will obviously want to have that cheese.

Accommodation:

In this retreat there are rooms and cabins with private bathrooms as well as a free form riverside swimming pool and hot tub. This hotel can accommodate up to 23 people. There are eight standard or balcony rooms, each with a double and a single bed, private bath and a shared balcony. You can also choose Casita which has a queen-size bed, a double bed and a further single bed if needed, private bath and a kitchen. If you go with your partner and want to spend some romantic time River cabin will match you perfectly. The most simple yet comfortable option is Camping style room with three single beds and a balcony overlooking the jungle.
